About Us
NYAN Robotics is a world-champion FIRST Tech Challenge team from Mundelein, IL that is one of two teams through Carmel Catholic High School. We are part of the Northeast Lake League of Illinois. Our mission as a team is to create an environment where students can learn robotics, engineering, and mathematics skills all while building leadership and teamwork.
FIRST
FIRST is an international organization that has the express goal of teaching youth to become future leaders. FIRST has three competition leagues: FIRST Lego League, FIRST Robotics Competition, and FIRST Tech Challenge, which we compete in. FIRST follows the mottos of Gracious Professionalism and Coopetition, which encourage competitive gameplay while caring for opponents. What We Do
Each year FIRST assigns a task to be completed by a robot of an original design. The team’s challenge is to build a robot from concept to a functioning machine that completes the task. The process of creating and designing the robot is not an easy one. The project has expenses for production equipment, components, and raw materials incurred by the team. The team finds sponsors to help cover the cost. The team must present a functioning robot within the time frame.
Our Accomplishments
We are a 5 Time State Champion, 5 Time World Qualifier, 5 Time Regional Champion, 2 Time World Champion, 2024 World Franklin Division Finalist Alliance Captain, 2024 World & State Control Award Finalist, and 2024 State Design Award Finalist. We have been impacting students in STEM education for 10 years. Our team has inspired thousands of students in local school districts and community demonstrations promoting the use of robotics and encouraging others to choose the robotics industry as a career.
